What is a good gift to give a family?
I have 2 families I'd like to give presents to. One has 4 kids, another has 3. Any kind of non-cliche gift would be nice... the whole fruit basket or cookie platter is so bleh. I'm not opposed to food gifts, just something different or a way to spice up those traditional, cliche family gifts. Oh and I don't want to spend more than 20 bucks :)

- uhm lets see... you could get a couple family movies... or.... you could get OOH! a trampoline! that would be good depending on the ages of the kids.... or like wut my family did 2 years ago was get everyone matching sweaters that said our family name where the logo usually goes everyone loved them!!! good luck. =~}
- Get them a membership to a local video rental shop. It is a useful yet fun gift. I think it would be appreciated. Everybody likes movies. You might want to check and see if they have a DVD player first though. Otherwise,what about a gift card to the movie theater for a movie and snacks? Another thought would be to give gift cards to a fast food place. The whole family might enjoy a night out for burgers and fries or even a night out for pizza.
- maybe instead of the traditional gift basket of fruit and cookies, you can do like a "family night" theme. put some popcorn, a deck of cards, a movie or two, maybe pick up a board game or a puzzle, things that they can all do together. you can find TONS of different games at your local retailer (walmart , target, etc), you can get a few for not alot of money. throw in a disposable camera so they can document it. you can write "family nights only" on it.
