Birthday Gift?
I have to *make* a gift for someone's birthday, which is several days after christmas, however, they live 1500 miles away, so I really need to ship it -- which means I probably want to ship it as early as possible as well. The girl I like is also one of my better friends, so I want it to be something memorable, but I don't want a gift to be overly romantic either. I want it to be a real object -- not something look cookies or a CD or something. The girl is Venezuelan, so if I could incorporate that somehow (for instance, if something had to deal with birds, use the Venezuelan state bird) that would probably work to my advantage as well The other thing is that since I am going to have to ship it, it has to be something not too delicate, or that can be easily and safely packaged. Please, help. I really can't think of anything that doesn't require a lot more planning ahead.

- if you have pics of each other and stuff you could make a college of pictures... or get a photo frame where you can put diff pics in there....
- maybe something like her favorite candles or lotion..everytime she use it she will think of you.
- Can't really help with the Venezuelan thing, but for someone you're not romantically interested in (btw you are going thru a bit of bother for this) how about a giftset from the body shop - you know, scented bath soaps and the like? The gift sets are pretty sturdy themselves, and they will gift wrap it for you. Then just put it in a sturdy container and ship it off.
- I have sent gift's to people in other countries. What I did was looked up the town they lived in on the net and shopped from there. There are plenty of stores that will be local to her and you will be able to shop from there website. The shipping will be local and may not cost as much and it also will have a better chance of getting there all in one piece. Look for local flower shops or resturants , ect. Good luck!!!

- Write her a poem than give her something that goes with it. Like if you said "You light up my life," get her a candel or if you said "You are good friend" give her a cute teddy bear!
